"There has never been a man or a woman more qualified than Hillary Clinton to serve as president of the United States of America. No one. Not me, not Bill, not nobody," he said. |
| Obama's speech was intended to be a surgical strike against the major criticisms of Clinton, including her decision-making as secretary of State and her difficulty connecting with white male blue-collar workers. "There are pockets of America that never recovered from factory closures; men who took pride in hard work and providing for their families who now feel forgotten." Meanwhile, Joe Biden was standing backstage thinking, "Chill out, everyone, I got this " and secretly hoping he'll have the opportunity to stage-dive into a crowd of Pennsylvania steelworkers. |

| Anyone else looking forward to the Kaine-Pence vice presidential debates? It's gonna be as exciting as a TED Talk about oatmeal preparation. The Democratic National Convention officially added Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine to the 2016 ticket yesterday and made him the opening act for Obama. Kaine went after Hillary's trustworthiness issues in his speech, attempting to turn focus to Trump's own trustworthiness: "With Hillary, it's not just words, it's accomplishments," Kaine said. "You know who I don't trust? Donald Trump. The guy promises a lot ... His creditors, his contractors, his laid-off employees, his ripped-off students did just that, and they all got hurt. Folks, you cannot believe one word that comes out of Donald Trump's mouth." |

| All the Trump-haters out there saying Donald would be the next Hitler: stop being so melodramatic! Clearly, he's more of a Neville Chamberlain. At a press conference yesterday in Miami, Trump said he'd look at the possibility of allowing Russia to keep the Crimean Peninsula and lifting sanctions imposed as a result of Russia's military intervention in Ukraine. The current custodian of Ronald Reagan's party also mockingly asked for a rival nation's assistance with his general election campaign: "Russia, if you're listening, I hope you're able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing," Trump said. We really hope the sarcasm translates correctly; otherwise, things are about to get espionage-y over here. |
