Trump Becomes President Elect After Clinton Concedes in Historic and Bitter Contest
Hillary Clinton conceded the hard-fought presidential contest to her Republican rival Donald Trump early Wednesday morning after the real estate mogul, a political novice, achieved victory in a number of key battleground states and even managed to turn formerly blue states red, ABC's MEGHAN KENEALLY notes. Clinton campaign chair John Podesta told supporters at the Javits Center who had amassed for a victory party to go home, saying that every vote should be counted. But Clinton later called Trump to concede, Trump said. http://abcn.ws/2fAMcvL

I hope that he will be a successful president for all Americans," she said this morning, ABC's MEGHAN KENEALLY. "This is not the outcome that we wanted...and I'm sorry that we did not win this election. "This is painful and it will be for a long time." At one point, Clinton spoke to her younger supporters, saying that they may have career setbacks later, but to carry on. "This loss hurts but please never stop believing that fighting for what's right is worth it," she said. http://abcn.ws/2ekKX3P

Analysis: Trump Shakes Nation With Challenge to Its Foundation
The nation is awake now. And it's about to face one of its biggest tests in decades, with a president-elect who channeled a movement that's shaken the country to its core, writes ABC's RICK KLEIN. The warning signs morphed into alarm bells, and they now constitute a ringing in Americans' collective ears – of joy, and of fear about a president-elect unlike any that we've seen. Everybody has no choice but to listen now. Donald Trump's first comments to the American people after he received a concession call from Hillary Clinton were about unity. His tone was remarkable for its absence of just about anything said throughout the campaign. "Now it's time for Americans to bind the wounds of division," Trump said. "It is time for us to come together as one united people." http://abcn.ws/2ff997j

The Trump Wave That Materialized Tuesday Night
...Was not predicted beforehand, but it was no accident. It grew over 18 unlikely months, and over decades of frustration with a political system that's resulted in economic frustrations and foreign-policy confusions. Trump won by appealing to many of the basest, even nastiest, elements of American society. With his border wall and Muslim ban, and his coded language around racial and ethnic divisions, he revealed things about the nation that have been hidden from polite conversation in recent decades. http://abcn.ws/2ff997j
