Three million Americans - roughly the populations of Vermont, Montana and New Hampshire combined - found themselves in a total blackout Wednesday as a toppled transmission line left the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico powerless again.

The island's ailing power structure is still reeling from a devastating hit from Hurricane Maria last September. Tens of thousands of Americans on the island had been without power since the storm.

Pompeo's not secretary of State yet, but he's acting as one

Mike Pompeo, Trump's pick to replace ousted Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, made his way to North Korea for a secret meeting recently with that nation's leader, Kim Jong Un. That's according to a tweet from Trump on Wednesday. "Details of Summit are being worked out now," Trump said, referring to a planned meeting between himself and Kim. The White House renewed its push for Pompeo's confirmation after the meeting. But more and more Democrats have voiced opposition tied to Pompeo's past statements about Muslims and the LGBT community.

South Korea, meanwhile, said it's ready for peace in its decades-old war with North Korea - if the later agrees to denuclearize

Karen McDougal, ex-Playboy model, can now talk freely about her alleged Trump affair

The former Playboy model who claims she had an affair with Donald Trump can now freely discuss it after reaching a settlement with the tabloid company who paid to keep her silent. An attorney for Karen McDougal told USA TODAY that she reached an agreement with American Media Inc., owner of the National Enquirer , which will let her tell her story and keep the $150,000 the company once paid her. The company, however, will retain rights to stories and photos related to McDougal and get a portion of any profits she earns in telling her story. Trump denies the affair.
