President Trump will skip a Latin American summit so he can coordinate the U.S. response to Syria's chemical weapons attack, the White House says

President Trump will skip the 8th Summit of the Americas in Lima, Peru, this weekend as well as his planned trip to Colombia, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said Tuesday. Trump will send Vice President Pence instead and work at the White House on the planned response to Syria's latest use of chemical weapons. Trump and military leaders are examining their options for a possible airstrike on Syria, which Trump also authorized in April 2017.
