Bitterly divided Senate proceeds to final consideration of Brett Kavanaugh; it’s unclear if he will have enough support for Supreme Court
Sens. Jeff Flake, Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski are key Republican votes. Flake and Collins approved the procedural vote that paves the way for a full Senate up-and-down vote after no more than 30 hours of debate, and Murkowski voted no. Democratic Sen. Joseph Manchin voted to move the nomination ahead, and it passed 51-49. A full vote on Kavanaugh could come this weekend.
