Lottery officials now say Mega Millions hit $1.537 billion, just shy of the largest-ever lottery jackpot in U.S. history

  Mega Millions officials say a single ticket purchased in South Carolina matches all six numbers in Tuesday night's drawing. The massive jackpot is the game's largest-ever grand prize and fell just short of the nation's biggest ever prize, a Powerball drawing in 2016. The winning numbers were 5, 28, 62, 65, 70 and Mega Ball 5.
