Senate leader McConnell says FBI report on Kavanaugh expected late Wednesday, moves ahead on nomination, setting up procedural vote this week
Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, speaking on the Senate floor Wednesday evening, said the FBI's supplemental background check into Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh has wrapped up and the Senate will receive the reports later Wednesday. He also filed cloture, a Senate procedure that will limit debate over Kavanaugh's appointment. The cloture vote could happen as early as Friday.
