Donald Trump arrived in New York today for tomorrow's arraignment.  Here's what we know about Tuesday's historic day and the events leading up to it: The former president took Trump 757 to Manhattan from Florida for his arraignment, which follows his indictment by a Manhattan grand jury last week. But Trump plans to be back in Florida tomorrow night for a speech at his Mar-a-Lago residence. What is likely to happen at Trump's arraignment?: Trump is expected to be taken into custody and processed as all other defendants, which includes him having his mug shot and fingerprints taken. Unlike other defendants, Trump is expected to be accompanied by his Secret Service detail. The formal charges will be read during the arraignment, where Trump will plead not guilty "loudly and proudly," Trump's lawyer Joe Tacopina told CNN's "State of the Union" Sunday. What we know about the charges: While the charges have yet to be made public, legal experts expect a combination of charges , including misdemeanor charges alleging falsification of business records about the payments, combined with a felony such as a campaign finance violation. The grand jury has been investigating Trump for hush money payments to two woman who've claimed to have had sex with the former president, including a $130,000 payment former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen said he arranged from Trump to adult film star Stormy Daniels in exchange for her silence prior to the 2016 election. Implications for 2024: While it has yet to be seen how this indictment affects Trump's status as the leading Republican presidential nominee, it doesn't stop him from being in the race. Trump can still run for office despite being indicted, according to Jessica Levinson, founding director of Loyola Law School's Public Service Institute.
