Do did you know that the United States has dropped on the list of happiness? It's true. We're less happy as a nation that we used to be, ranking now at 23.
The question is why. Why are we so upset? Turns out that it's because of the youths. Younger Americans, heading into the adult years, are the reason we dropped in the ranking. We decided to ask one of our Gen Z writers why this group is sad. Columnist Sara Pequeño answered the call with a column posted this morning.
"As someone who is under 30, I'm not surprised in the slightest. In the 2021-23 period, we have experienced huge life changes amid a pandemic, a new president and persistent economic anxiety. We, collectively, aren't OK."
