Hey OnPolitics readers! It's day 3 of the Republican National Convention, and Republicans are continuing their pitch to voters on their priorities for another Trump presidency.

On the second day of the convention, former rivals including Nikki Haley, Ron DeSantis and Vivek Ramaswamy all took the stage as part of Team Trump. Immigration was a key policy theme for Day 2 with the slogan of "Make America Safe Again," the USA TODAY Network staff reported. The convention is underway in the shadows of an assassination attempt against Trump, at his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, over the weekend.

❓Where is Pence? Former Vice President Mike Pence, who was Donald Trump's running mate in 2016 and 2020, is spending time in Indiana while Republicans gather for the RNC in Milwaukee. Pence, the former Indiana governor, refused Trump's wishes to try to block certification of the 2020 election results on Jan. 6, 2021 – an act Pence has insisted he never had the authority to do. The former VP also launched his own bid for president last year.

🎯 Trump's VP will give remarks: Ohio Sen. JD Vance will recount his journey from poverty to the vice presidential nomination during his primetime speech at the Republican National Convention tonight. Vance is expected to share how he grew up with a mother who struggled with addiction and no constant father figure in his life, according to a source familiar with his prepared remarks.
