Tropical Storm Helene forms; Florida bracing for major hurricane hit

The National Hurricane Center's forecast cone for a storm system expected to strengthen into Tropical Storm Helene before becoming a hurricane and striking the Gulf Coast of Florida.

Much of the Gulf Coast of Florida was placed under hurricane, storm surge and tropical storm watches ahead of an expected landfall Thursday.
