What's up, readers? It's Rebecca Morin, senior national news reporter at USA TODAY. I hope On Politics readers are holding up and staying safe after Hurricane Milton's landfall.

26 days until Election Day.

How voter registration trends could sway the 2024 election in a key state

In 2020, Joe Biden did something no other Democrat had done in a generation: Win Arizona. It was a narrow victory. (10,457 votes in fact.) But voting trends in Arizona show a shift that could affect the outcome of the 2024 election between Democratic nominee Kamala Harris and Republican nominee Donald Trump. Read more.

In razor close Nevada, Latino men shy away from Kamala Harris

It's been a busy week here in Las Vegas. This week, I spoke with an array of voters on their thoughts on the 2024 election. A trend I saw: Young Latino men are turning away from Democrats and Kamala Harris, who is in the state Thursday for a town hall with Univision. Instead, they're leaning into conservatism, and it's good news for Donald Trump. Read more.

The young men I spoke with all had the same concern: The economy.
One person I interviewed, Juan Garcia, 22, who works as a barber, told me that everyone needs to look at what the candidates are offering and which candidate wants a "better future for us."
Trump has appealed to Latino men by leaning into masculinity and going in front of the media they consume, such as sitting down with podcasters like Theo Von and Lex Friedman.
Harris this week launched a new initiative called "Hombres con Harris" to appeal to Latino men with what she will do for the economy.

Reminder: Nevada is in play as a swing state in the 2024 election.

Searching for voters, Donald Trump goes dark(er) with pre-election rhetoric

Donald Trump has called political opponents "mentally impaired;" migrants are murderers with "bad genes" and World War III is right around the corner. He appears to be ratcheting up this "dark" rhetoric in the final weeks of the election. Read more.

Live from Vegas

It's been a busy week here in sunny Las Vegas. Today, I'm coming to you from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. I'll have more for you, Readers, on this trip next week!

US Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris (R) shakes hands with former US President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump during a presidential debate at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on September 10, 2024.

Fox News invited both presidential candidates to another debate, but Trump said again he will not rematch Harris because it is too late.

Watch: How will hurricane victims vote?

Multiple states are recovering from hurricanes just weeks ahead of the presidential election. This could make it hard for victims to vote.

Dozens of people came out for a rally in front of the New Hanover County Board of Elections Wednesday Nov. 4, 2020 in Wilmington, N.C. The event was to help celebrate everyone who worked during the election and continues to count each vote that was cast by local voters.

Here's how long it's taken to know election results in the past

With Election Day just one month away, millions of Americans have already started casting their ballots. But how long will it take to know who won?
