Greetings! It's Rebecca Morin, senior national news reporter at USA TODAY. The temperatures in DC are starting to drop again and now I need hot chocolate.

Trump and Biden meet for nearly two hours

Roughly one week after Donald Trump was announced the winner of the presidential election, the president-elect was back in the White House to take part in a post-election ritual. Trump met with President Joe Biden in the Oval Office for nearly two hours . The two discussed an array of topics, including the importance of the United States continuing to stand with Ukraine in its war with Russia. Read more.

Trump didn't just meet with Biden while in DC. He also met with Republicans in Congress – the same day the GOP officially took control of the House.

The president-elect even made a joke about serving more than two terms as president. (Reminder: The 22nd Amendment to the Constitution bars anyone from being elected president "more than twice.")

Trump wants to close the Education Department. It's far easier said than done.

Donald Trump on the campaign trail repeatedly vowed to "close" the U.S. Department of Education if he regained the White House. But dismantling the agency isn't going to be an easy process, and would require the support of congressional Democrats (who vehemently oppose the idea). Read more.

Got questions on Latino voters?

This week, I'll be back on the campaign trail (yes, even after the results were called) to continue to speak with voters on emerging trends that we're seeing after the ballots were cast. That includes hitting up Miami and the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas, two places with majority Latino populations that have gone Red. Let me know if you have questions about these voters.
