House deliberates Trump's big bill | The self-imposed deadline is inching forward. The House on Wednesday started debating President Donald Trump's sweeping tax and policy package, even as Republican leaders are determining a path to victory with narrow majorities in Congress. Trump has been urging lawmakers to send him the bill, which includes tax reductions and Medicaid cuts, to sign into law by July 4 but has also acknowledged the timeline is flexible. The Senate narrowly passed Trump's sweeping bill on Tuesday with 50 votes, and Vice President JD Vance as the tiebreaker. Now, multiple House Republicans who supported the House version of the bill - including Reps. Andy Harris of Maryland and Ralph Norman of South Carolina - said they oppose the Senate version.
