This week we released our list of best SUVs of 2026 so far. The list spans every mainstream SUV vehicle segment: subcompact, small, midsize, midsize three-row and full-size.

I tested SUVs in each segment and rated them based on categories like value for the money, comfort and driving dynamics. The winners distinguished themselves from rivals because of their specs, features and general driving experiences. (As a sedan owner, I personally enjoyed the larger models thanks to their spaciousness.)
