News alert: Number of reported measles cases in the U.S. has surpassed any previous annual total this century, CDC reports

Another rash of measles cases, mostly concentrated in New York City, have raised this year's figure to 695. The previous highest total since 2000, when measles was declared eliminated in the country, had been 667 in 2014. At no other point in this century had the amount climbed above 400.
