A tsunami warning that was issued for Alaska and the U.S. West Coast after a magnitude-7.9 earthquake hit off Alaska has been canceled. The tsunami watch for coastal areas of California, Oregon and Washington state was canceled, as well as tsunami warnings for the British Columbia and Alaska coasts. A tsunami advisory remained in place for South Alaska and the Alaska Peninsula.
