The unprecedented indictment of a former president has 34% of Republican and Independent voters reporting that they are now less likely to support Trump, according to a new USA TODAY/Suffolk University poll released Tuesday. The findings demonstrate that the former president's legal challenges will likely play a significant role throughout the 2024 campaign. |
But some indictment excitement: While the indictments had a negative impact on Trump in the eyes of one-third of Republican and Independent voters, 11% said it makes them more likely to support Trump, according to the poll. |

Bad signs for Biden too: The USA TODAY/Suffolk University poll found that 37% of Democratic and Independent voters are less likely to support the 80-year-old president due to his age. |
